In 1991, Brent Trimble was producing a redesign of the classic design. More emphasis was being put on lighter weight and suspension was becoming more common. Trimble changed the rear drop out to the single hole style from the three hole style. The shorter dropout accommodated the geometry changes when using a suspension fork. The frames were also lightened and were offered in a 140, 160 and 180 models. The model name referred to the maximum recommended weight of the rider. There was also Unlimited versions of each model which used lightened aluminum pieces and added $400 to the cost. The serial number on this one is 140U-0001 possibly making it the first 140 Unlimited produced?
