    1991 Ibis Uptube Tandem

This bike is part of the MOMBAT collection and is NOT FOR SALE.  Please check out our Vintage Bikes for Sale page to see all of our current offerings.

In the 1990's Ibis was likely the biggest proponent of tandem bicycles.    The Uptube was the top tandem from Ibis.  This bike was built for the owner of Cane Creek Cycles and originally came with both drop bar and flat bar handlebars.  It could easily be converted from mountain to road duty.  Currently, it is set up with 1.25" Fat Boy slicks and drop bars which could take advantage of the the 60 tooth chain ring.  Paint is black with red and blue splatter with road kill graphics.  The headset is an early Chris King prototype Aheadset (Cane Creek owned the Aheadset patent).
