Early attempt at full suspension. Comes with the unusual Lawwill leader fork and twin disk brakes. The rear hub was custom made by Campagnolo for Fisher. They were generally set up with 8 speeds and a Pro-Stop disk brake. The color and unusual part spec make this bike an early prototype and/or team bike. I'll try to get some good close-ups of the unusual features.
We had pictures of this bike on the web site which prompted a call from Joe Lawwill. Mert Lawwill, Joe's father, did the suspension design for Fisher on the RS-1 bikes. Joe thought that this might be his personal bike from "back in the day". He asked if I could look at the bike while talking on the phone so I climbed up on a stool to take a look. Joe said to look at the "Gary Fisher" decals on the down tube and asked if they had a scratch mark around them and they did. He said the decals came on a clear backing sheet and his buddy put the decals on and proceeded to cut the backing material off with a knife leaving a scratch mark around the decals. Joe showed him how to take the clean backing off of the decals but the outline remained. I would have to say that would be enough evidence to know who used to own this one!
