    1989 Ibis Mountain Trials Prototype

According to the original owner, this was one of a handful of sample frames sent to Scot Nicol for the Mountain Trials frames. A couple of the frame details such as the above bottom bracket cables guides and the 0004 serial number jibe with the prototype story.  The bike was later painted yellow with color matched Fat Chance fork, stem and Bullseye cranks.  The parts used are from different eras with the friction shifters and Cannondale source wheels being much earlier than the frame. The original owner had parts preferences based on years of trials riding and stuck with his favorites with no real concern of "period correctness".  We have chosen to leave the bike "as found".
