    1985 Specialized Stumpjumper Team

In 1985, Specialized came out with one of the first "team" bikes.  The frame was the light weigh Tange Prestige with all top end parts.  Specialized provided there own headset, rims, tires, crank arms, bars, stem, hubs and seat.  The drivetrain consisted of the Shimano Deore XT "deer head" with Tommaselli levers and Suntour roller cam brake.  The original rims would have been the narrower HX 22 with Specialized Tri-Cross 1.5" tires for one of the lightest wheel sets of the era.  The larger Ritchey tires are a relatively tight fit and probably would pack in the mud.
