According to the original owner of this bike:
"I bought that frame unpainted and freshly out of the jig in Greg Diamond's industrial unit in Santa Barbara in what I'm pretty sure was 1984. Apparently, Pauley had built it to pay off some debt to Greg and Greg was doing some of the finish sanding work. I had Greg add the fork crown rack mounts as well as the eyelets on the leading edge of the fork drop outs. I originally had it painted a solid Imron burgundy color. Later, although it didn't actually need fresh paint, I got to know John Slawta (Landshark bikes) and thought it would be fun to turn him loose on it. That current paint job was about 1986." The frame has some pretty large fillets at the joints and a really nice decorative sleeve over the seat tube.
