The serial number would make this the 25th frame made in 1982 which was just the second year of production for Mountain Goat. The components on the bike date from mid 1983 but represent the original build for the frame. According to the original owner, he called Jeff Lindsay in 1983 to order a frame. Jeff discussed the customers needs and determined that this frame, which had been previously ordered but not delivered, would fit his needs. By this time, the Goat logo fork was being produced but this bike has the older biplane style fork. All of the early Goats featured ovalized down and top tubes as seen in the pictures below and were all fillet brazed. Components consist of mostly Shimano Deore XT "deer head" parts with Cook Bros. Racing hubs.
